What Is the Maestra Microsoft Teams Integration?
Maestra for Microsoft Teams adds real-time captions and translation directly inside Teams meetings. A Maestra bot captures the meeting audio and produces live captions in a Teams side panel, a meeting tab, or a shareable link for guests.
Set up once by an admin
An admin for your Microsoft 365 tenant grants Maestra organization-wide permissions and uploads the Maestra app package to the Teams Admin Center. After that, individual users install the app from Teams in one click.
Works inside the meeting
Participants stay in the Teams call. Captions and translations run alongside the meeting view, so people can follow presentations and translation at the same time.
Guests are covered too
Maestra can produce a shareable link, so external guests and people who prefer another device can follow in their own language without joining a separate tool.

Ways to Make a Teams Meeting Multilingual
Teams meetings in several languages usually rely on one shared language, a human interpreter, or AI translation.
| Everyone uses one language | Human interpreter | Maestra AI translation | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | None | Book a person for each language | Admin installs the app once; users start it in the meeting |
| Languages at once | One | One or two per interpreter team | 100+ |
| Where captions appear | Teams' built-in captions, where enabled | Not applicable | Teams side panel, meeting tab, or guest link |
| Guests outside your tenant | They follow the shared language | Depends on the arrangement | Shareable link |
| Record afterwards | Teams transcript, where enabled | Rarely transcribed | Transcript and translations can be exported |
| Best fit | Teams fluent in one language | Regulated or high-stakes sessions | Recurring meetings, town halls, onboarding and customer calls |
Human interpretation remains the right choice for legal, diplomatic and regulated proceedings.

The speed and ease of uploading and transcribing captions in so many different languages is what I love most about this tool. I also love that I can download an immediate text file of my transcriptions.
